Hannah + Cody | engaged

One of the best things about this job is that we get to meet SO many sweet couples who are absolutely in love. Hannah + Cody are definitely some of the sweetest and most in-love people you’ll find! After meeting Hannah (and her mom & sister & wedding coordinator, oh my!), it was such a pleasure to finally meet her other half and get to know them better. Hannah + Cody are both UTC grads who met while they were involved in ministry together, and when Cody proposed to Hannah in ISRAEL she said yes!

Elizabeth and I met Hannah + Cody at Hannah’s grandmother’s beautiful home in Cleveland, and then took a trip out to the Ocoee past Parksville Lake. They showed off one of their favorite hiking spots, and then we ended up at a small pier off the lake. Cody busted out his guitar and I did a little wading through the water, and we had an overall wonderful time.

Congrats, Hannah + Cody! We can’t wait for your wedding in November!

Chuck + Alice | married

Chuck + Alice were married this past weekend in a beautiful celebration surrounded by all their friends and family!

We started out at Grace Episcopal Church – the church that Alice and her siblings grew up in – and it was so fun to hear their stories about the building as they got ready. (Alice + two of her bridesmaids went to elementary school there as well!) Soirees was there when we arrived already orchestrating the day, and I have to say it was one of the smoothest weddings we’ve ever shot! There is so much love between these two families and it was an honor to photograph it all!

After the ceremony, we headed to The Mill which was decorated beautifully by Sound Force, Soirees, and Humphrey’s Flowers. Lee Towery Catering gave the guests the energy to dance away, and Kimmee’s Cakes did a gorgeous (and delicious) job on dessert. Higher Ground was an absolutely fabulous band – Alice’s father requested a band that played both motown and hip-hop, and boy did they! Alice’s father was on the dance floor more than anyone else (I even took a quick turn on the dance floor with him! His dancing was pretty infectious!) and the dance floor was so full it was almost hazardous to get through! (That’s the sign of a good party.)

A huge thanks to Maddie for shooting Chuck + Alice’s day with me!

Best wishes to you both!

Jimmy + Catherine | married

There is truly so much to say about Jimmy + Catherine! Maddie + I first met them when we did their hilarious Lookout Mountain engagement session (a groom has never made me laugh so much) and I totally wanted to be their friend. ;) Jimmy + Catherine are adventurous, loving, laidback, and all-around just good people. It was such a blast to hang out with them on one of the most special days of their lives!

We started the day at the home of Catherine’s mom, Mary, and step-father, Pat. Their gorgeous house on Lookout Mountain was the perfect place for all of Catherine’s bridesmaids (there were twelve!) and many other friends, aunts, and cousins to drink mimosas, eat a quick lunch, and give lots of hugs. (Really, Catherine has set a personal record for pictures of people hugging! I totally get it… even I hugged people that day! You could feel the love!) After the girls got ready, we headed to The Church of the Good Shepherd for the ceremony. Catherine’s dad met us there and it was so special to see all of Catherine’s family surrounding her.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Jones Family Farm for an absolutely incredible reception! (I was really excited about the fireworks beforehand, but having someone crash the wedding via hang-gliding was a total first for me!) Catherine’s dad put a lot of work into the property for the wedding (progress we got to witness at the engagement session) and it was so neat to see it all come together! The Atlanta Showstoppers put on an amazing show (with some help from Jimmy on the drums and Catherine did her share of the vocal work… see below!) and kept everyone dancing until late into the night. Epting Events ran the reception and catered, and I must say it was some of the most fresh and delicious wedding food I’ve ever had!

Jimmy + Catherine, we are so ridiculously happy for you! I know you will make each other happy for the rest of your lives. We hope you enjoy your images – you can register here to see more when available.

Big shout-out to both Maddie + Elizabeth who photographed the day with me!
